Just read that the 2013 released film The Lunchbox gets nominated for the non-english film title at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and this what instantly made me happy. It is very pleasant to see a work worth appreciation gets appreciated. The icon himself Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nimrat Kaur starrer this commercially low but critically rich film surprised everyone with its starling success on the box office when released in India. I knew that it gets a lot of appreciation all around the world, but today after reading this article, I feel yes, the movie gets the spot it deserves.
It is also very good for the directors and producers in the Bollywood industry that they don’t have to worry before getting their hands into a project, which is critically so deep that it has lower chances of making any money at the box-office, because now they do! Now the audience has evolved, their taste changes. Now they want to see good work of fiction and astonishing stories on screen.
That era has passed when the audience was stick to the movies, which were entertaining and made them laugh. Now their vision is wider they want to approach to more critical and intoxicating work on cinema and that is what worth it!
To see these critically acclaimed films working well I am immensely happy. The film industry is entering a new era where true talent will be appreciated, where the row potential will attain its mark and phenomenal work will be on the top.
Cheers to good work, cheers Bollywood!
